Sight Tips in Budapest
Buda Castle

"Europe has three jeweled cities: Venice on the waters, Florence on the plains, and Buda on the hill", so claimed medieval travelers. Today, the view of both banks of the Danube and the Castle District of Buda form a World Heritage Site. There are several things to see in the Castle District:
Labyrinth of Buda Castle, Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion

We recommend you to start your trip from Clark Ádám Square, which is at the bank of the Danube in Buda side. From there you can use the funicular railway which takes you to the Castle. You can also approach it from Moszkva tér (M2 takes you there), by using Bus no. 16.
Heroes Square
Hősök tere; 1146 Budapest, District 14.

The Heroes Square is the most visited sight in Budapest. It was built in 1896, for the 1000th anniversary of the arrival of the Hungarians to the valley of the Carpathian hills.
The statues are representing the founders of the Hungarian Country, the seven chieftains.
From Deák Square, M1 takes you there, which is the yellow line of the subway. The stop’s name is “Hősök tere”.
City Park
Városliget, District 14.
Maria Teresia ordered the planting of trees on the uncultivated area and willow in the marsh on the area of today’s City Park Lake. Creating the Beauty Commission at the time of József nádor (Joseph Palatine) the City of Pest planted group of trees on the border of the city, this land of over three hundred hectares.
City Park is now the biggest green area in Budapest, containing the Zoo, the National Circus and a fun fair. Either you would ease with family or be with your beloved one in a romantic place, this is the best location for you.
During winter at the entrance of the park you can enjoy the ice rink where you can warm up by skating or drinking mulled wine.
It is right behind the Heroes Square, so after visiting the great historical figures of Hungary, you can take a walk there.
Gellért Hill and the Citadel

You can enjoy one of the most beautiful sights from up there.
It is the part of the world heritage, it was visited by George W. Bush, and many tourist during their stay.
The word Citadella is exclusively used by other languages to address the Citadel located upon the top of the strategic Gellért Hill.
Take tram No. 47 or 49 from Deák Square and go 4 stops to “Szent Gellért tér”. From there you have to walk up through Gellért Hill. It takes only ten minutes and truly worth it!
Memento Park
Szoborpark, District 22.
The old statues of the communist leaders were moved from their original places - squares, plazas, streets after 1989, but they are still exist in the Park, and you can visit them.
The journey is not only about the statues, but you can also learn of the history of the years of socialism, by an exhibition and a short movie.
There is a direct bus from Deák Square to Memento Park, which goes two times a day, at 11 am., and at 15 pm.
Széchenyi Thermal Bath
1146 Budapest, Állatkerti krt. 11., District 14.
Opened in 1913, Széchenyi Bath was the first spa in Budapest, and one of the biggest thermal bath in the world.
Take M1 from Deák Square, the stop is "Széchenyi fürdő".
Gellért Thermal Bath
1118 Budapest, Kelenhegyi út 4., District 11.
The second biggest bath opened in 1918, and has been joined by a Hotel and is built in secession style.

From Deák Square, take tram 47 or 49, and go to “Gellért tér”, Gellért Thermal Bath.
Rudas Thermal Bath
1013 Budapest, Döbrentei tér 9., District 1.
This bath was built in the 16th century during the Turkish occupation.

From Deák Square take M3 to Ferenciek tere, where you have to take either bus No. 112 or bus 8. Go one stop to Erzsébet híd (that is the embankment of the bridge of Erzsébet), and then take a walk to the Rudas Thermal Bath.
Aquarena
2146 Mogyoród, Vízipark út 1.
This park has opened its gates lately, in 2003, and became the largest aqua park in Hungary. With 21 slides, and nine pools it can be a whole-day entertainment for the family.
Palatinus Water Park
1138 Budapest, Margitsziget (Margaret Island)
Palatinus is one of the biggest water parks in Hungary in the heart of Budapest, on Margaret Island.
Take M3 to Nyugati Square from Deák Square (2 stops), and then take bus 26 to “Parkmozi köz” where the Palatinus Water Park's beach’s gate is.
