Pálinka Festival Budapest

Pálinka festival is usually held in the second weekend in May, in the heart of the city, and you can enjoy delicious drinks, with original Hungarian dishes, and nice music.

Budapest International Wine Festival

Buda Castle

It is well known, that Hungarians love wine and wine making. And they love festival, were they can show how good their wine is and how well they are drinking it. Buda Castle gives the best place for this event, in September every year, where you can try drinks from every Hungarian wine district, and also some of the foreign wines too. You can get there from Clark Ádám Square (which is at the bank of the Danube in Buda side), where you can use the funicular railway which takes you to the Castle.

House of Terror

In this building over the years of two regimes (German and communist) were the screams of the poor victims to be heard. Now a touching and interesting exhibition shows you how the way of life was in those times. The Museum while presenting the horrors in a tangible way, also intends to make people understand that the sacrifice for freedom was not a vain.

2. Market Hall

The capital’s biggest market hall is next to the river of Danube, in a nice, neo-gothic building. This is the place, where you can by fresh food, from fruits, to meats, and Hungarian souvenirs, also known as Hungaricums, such as Tokaji wine, Paprika and Pálinka.
